Latest from Dr. Richard Bruno
The book, The Polio Paradox, written by Dr. Richard L. Bruno will soon be available through our library. You may obtain your own copy by contacting Carol Meadows at 212-522-812 or e-mail at carol.meadows@aoltwbg.com This newsletter includes a checklist of pre-surgery steps that are from Dr. Bruno's book. His book is an eyeopener for many who underwent long periods of time at rehab centers.

He also recommends the Rule of 2 -Polio survivors need two times the dose of pain medication for two times as long as non-polio survivors. For anesthesia and sedation, doctors need to divide by two the amount of anesthesia or sedative medication given, and polio survivors need two times as long for the effect of the medication to wear off.
